We have a very active PTA which, thanks to the support of parents and staff, is on target to reach a phenomenal £20,000 fund raising this year. The PTA funds are spent in a variety of ways, both big and small, for the benefit of the children and the school. In particular, this year the PTA has agreed to donate a significant sum towards the outfitting of the new classroom and school hall extension once the building work is completed. The PTA has also agreed to an annual commitment to fund the purchase of games and equipment for the children's playtimes, and is funding an interactive theatre production for the school in March. The PTA also puts on a number of social events for the children, such as the PTA Christmas Lunch, and the termly hot lunches and school discos. Several of the PTA events have become annual fixtures for parents, staff and children alike; in particular the Frieth Christmas Fayre, the School Camping Night in June and the Frieth Hilly 10k in October. Every parent and member of staff is automatically a member of the PTA, and everyone is welcome at the monthly PTA meetings. Everyone's input both as to fund-raising events, and ways to spend the funds raised, is welcomed and appreciated.

Up-coming PTA events for 2009 are:

Thursday 19th November–

Saturday 28th November -

Hot Dog Day

Christmas Fair

If you are interested in getting involved with any of the above events, or have suggestions for new events, we'd love to hear from you.

The object of the Association is to advance the education of the pupils by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities for education at the School, not normally provided by the Local Education Authority.   This may vary from providing, for example, additional books, computer software, digital cameras and televisions to subsidising such inspirational activities as a visiting poet or outdoor playground facilities and equipment.

The PTA also aims to build closer relationships between the School and families of children at the school.
A ‘New Parents’ lunch is organised at the beginning of each school year for anyone new to the school, to enable them
to meet and be given an introduction to their children’s first few weeks at school.  A personal contact list of parents is
also produced for those parents wishing to contribute their information.

 Membership/Election

All parents are automatically members of the PTA together with the Head Teacher and members of staff.
Parents are welcome to join the committee throughout the year as new ideas and enthusiasm are always welcomed - meetings take place once a month.

The Annual General Meeting is held April where officers are nominated and elected.

 100 Club

Those joining the 100 Club purchase a ticket (number) for £2 each and a draw takes place 10 times per year.
Half of the funds raised go to the school and the rest in prize money, so the more people that join the bigger the pot
and the larger the amount donated to school.

 Fundraising and Events

The financial help given to the school by the P.T.A. cannot be underestimated.  Projects they have supported recently include interactive white boards, garden furniture, computer software and library books.

Many types of events have been held - Christmas Fair, raffle, garden plant sale, fun day/barbecue and social evenings - including a fashion show and quiz nights.  There are also some non-profit (or low profit) making events for the pupils such as their school disco and the hot dog days.

As well as organising its own events, the PTA helps out at school events.  Parent members frequently lend a hand at the end of term Summer Queen (its 140th year in 2005!) serving cream teas and squash or dressing models for shows or supervising discos.
